I read this statement and it stuck me. It’s not to say I didn’t know doubt creeps in, but I never acknowledged it as that. Now it makes me wonder why we aren’t comforted by the fact mail in voting has very little, if any, fraud. The contradiction of the president should help relax things, but, like you point out, it doesn’t happen.
But I do think doubt comes from the president entrapping cynicism with these statements. Many of us are left wondering what’s to come which is rarely any good. It’s not hard to feel despair. And therein doubt exists.
